Scotland

Stirling rigid cover, when you need it

The licence is the minimum; experience of the delivery environment is the brief.

Operators across the M8 corridor parks at Eurocentral, Bellshill and Newhouse run rigids on tight delivery windows. Temporary Category C drivers keep those windows when a regular driver is off.

For Stirling operators we cover single days, full weeks and ongoing rigid assignments. Planned cover can be booked in advance.

Depots across Scotland are served by the M8, M74, M77 and M90, Glasgow and Edinburgh airports and the ports at Grangemouth, the Clyde and Aberdeen. Their rigids deliver to the towns in between.

Rigid planning

Setting up rigid cover

Across Scotland, rigid work swings with construction activity, retail peaks and the weather. Temporary drivers let the fleet flex without changing the payroll.

Drinks, food service and chilled rounds combine early starts with heavy handling and customer contact. The brief says what the driver will lift and where.

For a Class 2 request, include:

  • The body type: curtainside, box, tipper, flatbed or tanker
  • Whether it has a tail-lift or a HIAB
  • The start time and the finish you expect
  • Whether the driver collects signatures, returns or paperwork
Compliance

Verified every time

Where the job needs a HIAB ticket or ADR we confirm those too. The standard checks — category C, Driver CPC, tachograph card and right to work — apply to every booking.

A Class 2 driver who handles a tail-lift safely, reverses with care and deals politely with the customer is worth more than one who only drives well.

Yes. Many rigid rounds start before six. We match drivers who are used to that pattern.

Can you supply more than one Class 2 driver?

Yes. Tell us how many drivers you need and whether they start on the same day.

Can drivers handle customer paperwork?

Yes. Tell us what the driver collects at each drop (signatures, returns or delivery notes) and we brief them on it.

Can you cover Saturday rounds?

Yes. Saturday and bank holiday rounds can be booked in the same way as weekday cover.
