Temporary HGV Class 1 Drivers in Sale

Articulated cover for Sale and the North West: Class 1 drivers booked around your trailers, your routes and your start times.

North West

Keeping Sale trunk routes running

Experienced C+E drivers, briefed on the job before they arrive.

Across the North West the road network is built for artics: the M6, M62, M56 and M61, Manchester and Liverpool airports and the Port of Liverpool. Temporary Class 1 cover keeps those units earning when a regular driver is off.

Busy months across the North West often mean one more night trunk than the rota can staff. A temporary Class 1 driver covers it without a permanent hire.

Hauliers serving retail and grocery DCs, national 3PLs, e-commerce fulfilment and port and container logistics need drivers who can handle the trailer types those customers use.

Work we staff

Typical runs a temporary Class 1 driver covers.

How it works

Three steps to cover

You send the brief

Trailer type, route profile, start time and how many nights. Two minutes on a form or a call is enough.

You confirm the booking

We tell you who is starting, when and where, so the transport office can plan around it.

We stay on the booking

If the cover needs extending, you tell us and we plan the next shifts.

Class 1 planning

Before you book a C+E driver

A temporary C+E driver who has pulled your trailer type before needs less induction and settles into the route faster.

Weekend and bank holiday trunks are hard to staff from a permanent rota, which makes them a natural fit for temporary Class 1 cover.

For a Class 1 request, include:

  • The trailer type: curtainsider, box, fridge, flatbed or tanker
  • Whether the work is trunking, container or general haulage
  • Double-deck, drawbar or walking-floor experience if needed
  • Who the driver reports to and where to collect the keys
Compliance

Before the keys change hands

We check C+E entitlement on the licence itself, review endorsements, confirm Driver CPC currency and the card expiry and check the tachograph card before the first run.

For Sale runs, recent trunking or haulage experience counts for more than years held on the licence.

Class 1 FAQs

Your Class 1 questions

Can you cover night trunking?

Can you supply several Class 1 drivers at once?

Yes. Tell us how many drivers you need and whether they start together or in stages.

Do you also recruit permanent Class 1 drivers?

Yes. Our permanent driver desk places Class 1 drivers onto your payroll when you want a seat filled for good.

Can you cover weekend and bank holiday work?

Yes. Weekend trunks and bank holiday shifts can be booked like any other. Tell us the dates as early as you can.
