Temporary HGV Class 2 Drivers in Scarborough

Category C drivers for Scarborough operators — local, regional and national rigid work, checked before the first drop.

Humber & East Yorkshire

Category C drivers for Scarborough rounds

Multi-drop work needs pace and care in equal measure; we brief for both.

Much of the Class 2 work across the Humber & East Yorkshire supplies port and bulk terminal operators, offshore wind and renewables supply chains, chemicals and food processing and rail-linked 3PLs. Those rounds reward drivers who handle customers well at the door.

For Scarborough operators we cover single days, full weeks and ongoing rigid assignments. Planned cover can be booked in advance.

Depots across the Humber & East Yorkshire are served by the M62, the A63, the A15 and the ports of Hull, Immingham and Goole. Their rigids deliver to the towns in between.

Store, site and depot work

Rigid rounds where a temporary driver fits.

How it works

From request to first round

You send the round

Vehicle, number of drops, delivery windows and start time. A short form or call is enough.

We match the driver

We look for Category C drivers who have worked similar rounds and want that pattern.

We check the licence

Category C, Driver CPC, tachograph card and right to work are confirmed before we name the driver.

Rigid planning

The details a Class 2 match needs

A driver who already knows tail-lift work or site deliveries needs less supervision on the first day and gets the round done safely.

Drinks, food service and chilled rounds combine early starts with heavy handling and customer contact. The brief says what the driver will lift and where.

For a Class 2 request, include:

  • Where the rigid is based
  • How many drops and the delivery windows
  • The start time and the finish you expect
  • Any site access or unloading restrictions
Compliance

Checked before the first drop

No Class 2 driver is confirmed until the licence shows category C, the Driver CPC card is in date and the tacho card and right-to-work checks are complete.

We ask Category C drivers which rounds and bodies they have worked, then match on that rather than on the licence category by itself.

Do you also recruit permanent Class 2 drivers?

Yes. Our permanent driver desk places Class 2 drivers onto your payroll when you want a permanent hire.

Can you cover tipper work?

Yes, where the driver has tipper experience. Tell us the material, the sites and whether a weighbridge is involved.

Can you cover Saturday rounds?

Yes. Saturday and bank holiday rounds can be booked in the same way as weekday cover.
