Humber & East Yorkshire

Rigid-lorry cover for Filey

Rigid drivers who can reverse onto a tight site and still make the next window.

Much of the Class 2 work across the Humber & East Yorkshire supplies port and bulk terminal operators, offshore wind and renewables supply chains, chemicals and food processing and rail-linked 3PLs. Those rounds reward drivers who handle customers well at the door.

Hiring a permanent rigid driver too? Our permanent driver desk can run that search while the temporary cover keeps the round going.

Depots across the Port of Hull and the A63 corridor estates run early rigid departures. The first drop sets the pace for the day.

What Class 2 drivers do here

Where temporary Category C drivers help most.

How it works

Our booking process

We match the driver

We look for Category C drivers who have worked similar rounds and want that pattern.

You confirm who is coming

We tell you the driver's name, start time and site so the depot can plan.

Cover can be extended

If the gap runs longer, tell us and we plan the next days.

Rigid planning

What we ask about the round

Merchants, wholesalers and store networks often need Category C cover for a set period: holidays, a busy season or a new customer. Temporary drivers fill that period and no more.

Refuse and municipal rounds are Class 2 work with a public face. The brief covers the route, the crew and the safety rules for working on the street.

For a Class 2 request, include:

  • How many drops and the delivery windows
  • Any site access or unloading restrictions
  • Any ADR or HIAB tickets required
  • Who the driver reports to at the depot
Compliance

The checks behind every booking

Driver CPC means 35 hours of periodic training every five years. We confirm it is current, along with category C entitlement, the tacho card and right to work.

Manual handling, site safety and customer contact are part of most rigid rounds. We say so to the driver before they accept.
